3 1/2 stars – It seems like the editorial at the start of everything Action Bunny Comix publishes begins with a “sorry not sorry” note about the gratuitous nudity within. It comes off as super-defensive and I have to wonder who it was that would have been criticizing them. These comics are full of characters whose “costumes” are essentially their birthday suits. If you weren’t cool with that, why would you even bother reading?

The nudity is non-sexual in nature (it’s rarely even commented upon), and honestly it’s completely unnecessary to the story (hence the gratuitousness), but honestly these books wouldn’t be the same without it. That said, I think it’s a stretch that the opening editorials claim they’re doing so for the sake of creating “mature” comics. This comic is a lot of fun, but nudity or no-nudity, it’s still basically a super-hero romp. Yes, there’s boobs and swearing, but this isn’t the work of a navel-gazing artiste, this is comics. Check your maturity at the door and enjoy the ride.

Btw, the previous issue ended with the promise of an appearance by a group called Codename: Shadowfang. However, they’re completely absent from this issue. Combined with an ad for a Codename: Shadowfang comic appearing elsewhere that never got published so far as I know, and I have to wonder what the story with that property was…
